JSK Traffic Control takes a strict approach to workplace safety and well being of our employees. We are recognised and certified COR (Certificate or Recognition) company, granted by WorkSafeBC. We are the first traffic control company to be certified on Vancouver Island and second in the province of British Columbia.

What is TCP?

​

​

The first step to becoming  a TCP (Traffic Control Person) an applicant must complete the BCCSA 2 day Traffic Control Training Program. We offer both private and public on-site courses twice a month (TCP course schedule).  The course consists of classroom and practical training of and it is the only course accepted by WorkSafe BC under Occupational Health and Safety Regulations for high-risk traffic control.

OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE ARE

​

  • Roles and responsibilities of TCPs, employers and supervisors

  • Regulations and standards, including those set out by Ministry of Transportation, WorkSafeBC and the Motor Vehicle Act

  • Traffic control equipment and devices, including personal protective equipment

  • Setting up, maintaining and removing work zones

  • Working around equipment

  • Basic and advanced traffic control skills

By enrolling in our provincially recognized TCP program, you will learn the basic skills of a traffic control person that will be required to succeed as an employee of JSK Traffic Control Services.

To meet the growing demand for Traffic Control Personnel, JSK Traffic Control Services hires 85% of all students who successfully complete the course and seek employment. All new employees will receive a full refund of the TCP course after three months of full time employement.

Class size is limited to 14 participants â€‹â€‹â€‹

QUALIFICATIONS

​

To successfully complete the course, the participant must pass both the written exam with a minimum mark of 80% and the practical evaluation with 100%.  Records of completion are provided by the BCCSA and are valid for three years.
